LIRA’S LANGUAGE CHALLENGE

LIRA recently took to social media to share how far she’s come since suffering a stroke earlier this year. “Can you believe it’s been six months – how time flies,” the singer captioned a picture of herself.

The 43-year-old also revealed that since suffering her stroke, she’s been diagnosed with aphasia – a speech disorder caused by damage in an area of the brain that controls language expression and comprehension.

It is, however, reversible and she’s slowly starting to feel like herself again. “This process has been fascinating for me and although it’s quite challenging at times, I’m happy.”
