1 The all-girl K-pop quartet – consisting of Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa and Rosé – have set a new music record, with 80 million subscribers on YouTube, the first artists to reach that milestone. They’ve shot past Justin Bieber’s 70 million subscribers and BTS’ 70,6 million.

2 Their second album, Born Pink, has just dropped after racking up an impressive 1,5 million pre-sales. The music video of its first single, Pink Venom, scored the group the title of the biggest 24-hour music video debut of 2022 so far, and the third-largest 24-hour music video debut of all time, with 90,4 million views in its first day.

3 The name Blackpink represents the group’s two sides – the darker, mature “black” and the sweet, girlish “pink”.

4 Jennie, Rosé and Lisa all have solo careers on the side. Rosé’s single, On the Ground, peaked at No 70 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the highestcharting

entry by a female Korean solo artist in the chart’s history. Jisoo and Jennie have also broken into acting, with Jisoo appearing in the drama Snowdrop and Jennie set to make her debut in the upcoming HBO series The Idol.

5 Their fans, who call themselves Blinks, can look forward to a world tour by the group this month, which will take them from South Korea to Australia, Europe and North America.
