FASHION FORWARD

-

FABULOUS fashion, live music and the flash of cameras were all in play at the Front Row event hosted at Vodacom World in Midrand, Johannesburg.

Local fashion designer GERT-JOHAN COETZEE was on hand to showcase his latest Spring/Summer ’22 collection in collaboration with Samsung and Vodacom, showing off an array of flowing fabrics, bright colours, sparkles and his signature styled beading.

Gert explains how he took inspiration for his collection from the sunflower.

“In this collection I used the rich symbolism behind the sunflower against the African sunset to emphasize the importance of always following the sun in pursuit of great horizons,” he says of the collection. He’s also reworked his logo to include two elephants, which represent strength and warmth.

The show was hosted by MiCasa frontman J’Something, who kept the crowd entertained, while DJ Lerato Kganyago took to the decks to get the party started. With the world opening up again and event season in full swing, some familiar faces in the industry made a fashionable entry at the event, which was dubbed a fashion-meets-music and tech affair.
