WHY DID THE FBI ABANDON THEIR INVESTIGATION?

- Anne Kiley, the actor’s lawyer, says he will “respond in court” to the allegations. “He has been on the receiving end of every type of personal attack and misrepresentation but will not own anything he didn’t do.

Angelina is demanding to know why the bureau shelved their probe. She told investigators Brad’s behaviour left her feeling “scared” and “like a hostage” and she showed them her injuries, which included a “rug-type burn” on her hand.

Officials asked about a scratch visible on Brad, which she admitted could have been inflicted by her.

“The fact that both parties had apparent injuries likely complicated the charging decision for investigators,” a report in Rolling Stone says. The files also apparently state that Angelina “was personally conflicted on whether or not to be supportive of charges”.

“It was agreed by all parties that criminal charges in this case would not be pursued due to several factors,” the FBI said after closing their investigation.

Angie, however, now also wants a more thorough search of government records related to the probe.

WHAT BRAD SAYS

“Thankfully, the various public authorities the other side have tried to use against him over the past six years have made their own independent decision.”

Brad has a “limited and strained” relationship with his kids as a result of Angelina’s “campaign of alienation”, a friend of the star says. “Throughout all this he has never publicly uttered a bad word about her for the sake of the kids.”
