BLACK ADAM

DWAYNE JOHNSON’s second superhero movie, Black Adam, is out on 21 October and his first, DC League of Super-Pets, is streaming now on Google Play and Apple TV.

WHO’S BLACK ADAM? Remember Billy Batson, the kid who was magically transformed into the superhero Shazam? Thousands of years before Billy became superpowered, Teth-Adam or “Mighty Adam” was chosen as a champion by the wizard Shazam. He was a good guy for a while, but corrupted by power, he became known as Black Adam and was exiled by Shazam, until his return in modern days.

In the comics he’s something of an anti-hero. He has the same powers as Superman, plus magic, and he believes that he’s the right person to lead humanity.

WHAT’S THE MOVIE ABOUT? Nearly 5 000 years have passed since Black Adam was imprisoned for using his powers for vengeance and he has gone from man to myth to legend. Now released, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by the Justice Society.

WHO’S IN THE MOVIE? Heroes from the Justice Society make their big-screen debuts, including Doctor Fate (PIERCE BROSNAN) and Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo).
