TIGER KING: THE OFFICIAL TELL-ALL MEMOIR

By JOE EXOTIC GALLERY BOOKS Fans of the Netflix series were enthralled by the secret world of big cats and exotic animals, the love stories and the conspiracy theories. The book written by the Tiger King himself falls a bit short.

For starters, it doesn’t seem as if Joe Exotic has watched the series, because he rambles on quite a bit about things covered in the show.

Viewers will be aware that he had a tough upbringing, but his book delves into his “origin story”, so to speak, and readers are given great (and sometimes unnecessary) detail about his childhood and caring for animals.

Other than that, it’s a lot more of the same – especially the paranoid conspiracy theories.

The infamous big-cat rescuer Carole Baskin is unsurprisingly a hot topic, with Joe prattling on about the many things he suspects but can’t prove she did.

For fans of the series it could definitely be an insightful read, but if you don’t have the patience for laborious detail and long-winded rants then rather give it a miss.
