HOW TO USE YOUR RAIN GAUGE
B Measure how much rain fell in a certain period, such as 24 hours, by checking the millimetre measurement on a ruler, for example 2mm. B Measure the rainfall every day or week at the same time and write it down. There will often be times when there’s no rainfall – record 0mm for those days.
B Keep a journal. Write down the date and rain measurement each time. You can also create a graph to keep track of your measurements. B See if you can spot patterns. Does it rain more at the start or end of a season? In the course of a year, which month had the highest rainfall? And which had the least?
