DON’T CALL HIM AQUAMAN
Namor the Sub-Mariner is one of Marvel Comics’ oldest characters. First introduced in 1939, he makes his big-screen debut played by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta. Namor is the ruler of Talocan, an advanced undersea kingdom, which in the film is inspired by the cultures and history of Mesoamerica. He’s drawn to the surface in the wake of T’Challa’s decision to reveal the truth about Wakanda to the world. “That decision puts Talocan in jeopardy,” Huerta explains. “And Talocan has to take action to protect themselves.”
