The next chapter of The White Lotus trades Hawaii for Sicily and follows a new group of holidaymakers at a different White Lotus resort. The first season became the most awarded show at the 2022 Emmys, with 10 gongs, including best limited or anthology series, directing and writing – and best supporting actress for Jennifer Coolidge as

Tanya McQuoid – the only character who’s back for the new season. New cast members include Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation), Theo James (Sanditon) and F Murray Abraham (Moon Knight, Homeland).

The new season will have a different focus, showrunner Mike White says.

“The kind of mythology of Sicily, at least from the point of view of Americans, is the archetypal sexual politics and role play that you associate with, like, opera and the mafia and Italian romance. I felt like it should be more focused on men and women and relationships and adultery and have an operatic feel to it, so I pivoted.”
