MORE ABOUT ADENOCARCINOMA
Adenocarcinoma is a type of cancer that forms in the glandular tissue, which lines certain internal organs that produce and release substances such as mucus and other fluids.
It affects around one in every 100 people and can occur anywhere in the body, but is most common in the lungs, prostate, pancreas, oesophagus and cervix.
Adenocarcinoma in the eye is extremely rare.
Treatment depends on the location of the cancer and the size and type of tumour.
It involves surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. As with most cancers, survival depends on how soon the cancer is discovered and how quickly treatment begins.
