OTHER TRAIL

-

The Garden Route – named after its garden-like natural beauty – is the region where you’ll find the Otter Trail. This hiking route was established in 1968 and is the oldest trail in SA. It’s also considered one of the best in the world because of its spectacular scenery. The trail is named after the Cape clawless otter (Aonyx capensis), which is found in the area.

This route is situated in the Tsitsikamma National Park. It stretches over 44km from the Storms River mouth to Nature’s Valley and along the way hikers are treated to stunning views of the Indian Ocean and indigenous forests.

Highlights include the Jerling River waterfall, Skilderkrans lookout point and Bloukrans River crossing.
