He made his debut as Germany’s goalkeeper in the 2010 world cup and has been described as a “sweeper-keeper” because of his speed when rushing to block the ball.

Neuer, who was named the best goalkeeper of the decade from 2011 to 2020, has had many great world cup moments but the most memorable was his performance in a 2-1 win against Algeria after extra time in round 16 of the 2014 world cup. Germany lifted the trophy that year.

This world cup will probably be his last and he intends to fight to the end.
