GROWING OLD GRACEFULLY BUT…

-

Cher isn’t afraid to admit she’s not a fan of the ageing process. “Any woman who’s honest will say it’s not much fun,” she told The Guardian in 2020.

She refuses to go grey gracefully. “It’s fine for other girls; I’m just not doing it,” she told People earlier this year. She works out five days a week with a trainer who doesn’t let her “play the age card” and she can apparently hold a five-minute plank.

In 2020 her Here We Go Again world tour in support of her Abba tribute album, Dancing Queen, had to be stopped due to the pandemic, but tickets are believed to be on sale again.

However, Cher admits her energy levels aren’t quite what they used to be.

“We used to do two shows a night and then go out dancing all night long. It’s like, now we’ve got to rest because we’ve got another night.”

Still, she believes her voice is better than it’s ever been.

“You don’t pay bucks to stand and look at someone. They’ve got to deliver something and I’ve worked my whole life to keep my strength in my body. There are 20-year-old girls who can’t do what I do.”

Making people happy keeps her going, she says.

“It sounds corny, but I mean it. I love being able to take an audience and move them to a different place.”
