TRAIN SMASHES NEW RECORD

A Swiss railway company has set a record for the world’s longest passenger train. Rhaetian Railway recently ran a 1,9 kilometre-long train through twists, turns and tunnels in the Swiss countryside.

The record was set during a special festival held to celebrate that trains have been running in Switzerland for 175 years. The record-setting 100-car electric train travelled over 48 bridges and went through 22 tunnels. To achieve the feat, all sections of the train had to be kept running at the same speed throughout the trip.
