AKA & NADIA GET INKED
ARE matching tattoos the new “I do” or a relationship taboo? Whichever it is, rappers KIERAN ‘AKA’ FORBES (34) and NADIA NAKAI (32) have made things permanent with matching ink. The couple, who’ve been dating for a year, debuted their tats on Instagram, with AKA sporting half a lion’s face on his left arm and Nadia half a lioness’ face on her right.
When placed next to each other the designs match up perfectly, but fans are divided over this new relationship stamp. While some think it’s a sweet gesture, others are sceptical and wonder if the couple will suffer the dreaded tattoo curse.
“Better than initials. If it doesn’t work you can say the lion represents bravery,” one commented on Nadia’s post. “This will end in tears,” another doom-monger said. Earlier this year the couple hit back at rumours he’d assaulted her on a trip to Ghana, where they performed at separate events. “Just to clear the air, there was no physical nor verbal altercation between us. We’re fine and there’s no drama between us,” they said in a joint statement.
AKA previously dated DJ Zinhle (38), with whom he shares daughter Kairo (7). His last relationship ended in tragedy in 2020 when his fiancée, Anele Tembe (22), fell to her death from a building in Cape Town.
Nadia previously dated another rapper, Gcina “Dotcom” Nkula (34), and was linked to singer and music producer Cassper Nyovest (31).
