Julia and Ari, who also dreamt up SuzelleDIY, enjoy working together behind the scenes.

“We’re so in tune with each other in our different roles within the production that it makes our working relationship flow so easily,” she says. “We really trust each other creatively and that makes all the difference. We also get to laugh a lot and do something we love together every day. It’s win-win.”

Being honoured with five Saftas (South African Film and Television Awards) for Tali’s Baby Diary this year was special. “Gosh, this really is our baby and it’s so awesome to be recognised for that. We were already shooting season 3 and working so tirelessly when we heard we won, so it was a great motivator for us,” Julia says. “It was a real reminder of how much people love the show, so that really gave us the push to get through it and make the best season 3 that we could.”
