Nelis was a farmer from Na­maqua­land. In 2009, he came to Cape Tow ntop ur­sue his dream of be­com­ing a pho­tog­ra­pher, watch­ing hours of YouTube videos on the art. In 2013, he and wife, Jana, opened Light Lounge Stu­dio. Many a local celeb has tied the knot wear­ing a cus­tom­made Di­aan Daniels gown. Shanaaz Alexan­der


Shanaaz has a local and in­ter­na­tional cer­ti­fi­ca­tion in make-up and hairstyling and also of­fers mo­bile spray tan­ning. She’s worked with SA celebrities such as Jo-Ann Strauss, Vicky Davis, Char­lene Truter, Denise New­man and Tanit Phoenix. Kgo­motso Ndun­gane


Kgo­motso stu died and worked in IT, but af­ter plan­ning her wed­ding to rugby star Odw aNd un­gane in 2012, she sold her IT firm to plan wed­dings, start­ing Oak Cel­e­bra­tions in Dur­ban. Jeanette Heyns Coet­zee


Jeanette is the owner of Paramithi: Flow­ers and Dé­cor De­sign and the “dar­ling lit­tle flower shop”, Bloe­men Markt in Cape Town. Her work has been fea­tured in local and in­ter­na­tional mag­a­zines and she’s just done the flow­ers at the wed­ding of ac­tress An­gelique Ger­ber to rugby player Jac­ques Pot­gi­eter. Erlo Burns & Rendil Pi­etersen


Ex­pe­ri­enced cater­ers Erlo and Rendil part­nered up to form Kings Ca­ter­ing in Welling­ton more than 15 years ago. They’ve catered the wed­dings of TV per­son­al­ity Gerry Rantseli, news an­chor Haydé Adams and many more. Wade van der Merwe


Wade is founder and wed­ding cake baker ex­traor­di­naire at Cakes by Wade in Cape Town, with many local celebrities opt­ing for his cake de­signs. Be­fore be­com­ing one of the best-known pas­try chefs in South Africa, Wade worked in the restau­rant in­dus­try for 17 years. Shireen Louw


Since start­ing Shireen Louw Pho­tog­ra­phy in Cape Town more than a decade ago, Shireen has done it all – from wed­dings (she can shoot up to4 0 a year!), in­clud­ing celebrity wed­dings, to life­style shoots. “It’s a great feel­ing when you cap­ture a mo­ment that can eas­ily be for­got­ten if it was not for that im­age,” she says. Mas­hooda Es­sop


Af­ter study­ing at the Com­plete School of Hair­dress­ing in Springs, Mas­hooda joined the fran­chise sa­lon brand, Candi & Co, an all-hair-type sa­lon spe­cial­is­ing in eth­nic hair, and sis­ter to beauty sa­lon chain, Sor­bet. Malissa de Bruin


Malissa stud­ied in­te­rior dec­o­rat­ing but would of­ten make and decorate cakes for her younger twin sis­ters and, at a later stage, for friends. Cake dec­o­rat­ing grew into a pas­sion. Javaid As­lam


He spe­cialises in men’s wear and made rugby player Gio Aplon’s three-piece suit for his wed­ding last year. Me­dia per­son­al­i­ties such as Natalie Becker and Tanya Nefdt, Top Billing’s Ai­dan Ben­netts and Pasella’s Di­eter Voigt have been spot­ted in his de­signs at wed­dings and events. Cor­nel Nel


Cor­nel is the co-owner, cre­ative di­rec­tor and staff trainer at Fol­li­cle Hair Ate­lier in Pre­to­ria and has more than 10 years’ ex­pe­ri­ence in the hair and cos­me­tol­ogy in­dus­try. Her­man Hanekom & An­dre Schoe­man


Two Chefs in Stel­len­bosch was started by Her­man and An­dre in 2009 when they de­cided to com­bine their ex­pe­ri­ence af­ter work­ing for ho­tels such as the Ara­bella Sher­a­ton and Hil­ton Ho­tel groups.
