• Sul­phate, a de­ter­gent found in most soaps, has got­ten a bad rep for strip­ping hair of its nat­u­ral oils and leav­ing it feel­ing rough and grassy. Us­ing a sham­poo with sul­phate could help with re­mov­ing prod­uct build up, just re­mem­ber to use an in­tense deep con­di­tion­ing treat­ment af­ter­wards.

• Parabens are a class of colour­less, taste­less and odour­less preser­va­tives widely used in cos­met­ics. The health draw­backs from parabens have not been sci­en­tif­i­cally proven yet, but some re­search has claimed a link between parabens and grow­ing can­cer tis­sue.
