Almond oat porridge
2 tablespoons rolled oats 2 tablespoons boiling water 1 tablespoon almond butter 1 banana, peeled and fork mashed
Method: 1. Stir the oats and boiling water together in a small bowl and let sit until cooled and thickened. 2. Stir in the almond butter and banana and serve. You can thin this porridge with a little almond milk if necessary. Nuts are packed with protein, good fats, B vitamins and minerals such as iron, potassium, calcium, zinc and magnesium. It is safe to give nut butters to children under a year, but please be careful if there’s a history of nut allergies in your family.
