THE PONSETI METHOD

-

The Ponseti method is best practice for clubfoot treatment. It starts from about two weeks of age, with weekly manipulations and full leg plaster casts. Usually a small surgical procedure is done to release the Achilles tendon and a final cast is applied.

After the casting phase, the baby will wear boots attached to a bar for 23 hours a day for the first three months. After that, the boots and bar are only worn at night for around 12-14 hours until the age of four.
