Lentil & pear puree
Ingredients:
½ cup red lentils 1½ cups water 1 pear, peeled, cored and cut into chunks
Method:
1. Rinse the lentils well, checking that there are no “garden bits” like tiny stones in the mix. Pour water into a small pot, add lentils and pear chunks and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the lentils and pear chunks are tender.
2. Remove from heat and drain off excess water. Let cool a little before you purée the mixture using a hand blender or food processor (or use a good old sieve and spoon to press the mixture).
