Toddler DIY Gingerbread house
YOU WILL NEED
2 large cardboard boxes Scissors Box cutter White poster paint Brown paper Coloured paper or cardboard Masking tape Glue Coloured pipe cleaners
• Cut a door and two windows in one side of the box. The windows can be cut out completely, but for the door leave the one side intact so that it can open and close. We folded the box’s closing flaps up and stuck them down with masking tape on the inside for extra stability. • Use the second box to fashion a roof. Cut off the closing folds and cut off one side of the box so that you are left with three sides. Fold these into a triangle shape for the roof. Stick it on with masking tape. • Cut lots of circles out of the brown paper, overlap them on to the roof and stick down with glue to make the roof tiles. Start at the bottom and work your way upwards in rows. Create a chimney out of pipe cleaners and attach to the top of the roof. • Paint detail on the house with the white poster paint. Cut sweetie shapes out of coloured cardboard and stick on the house for added decoration.
Fact: Children love playing with boxes. Construct this little house for hours of imaginary play.
