FOUR HYGIENE TIPS

Model the following behaviour and teach your children to do the same: • Don’t let animals lick you in the face, and discourage licking elsewhere on the body too. • Always wash your hands thoroughly after a stroking and playing session with your pets. • Pick up pet poo in the garden every day, using a poop scoop or plastic bag, and then wash hands too. • If your baby is mobile, make sure your pet’s food and water is kept somewhere your child can’t get to it, for example in a closed scullery or stoep.
