Your Baby & Toddler

A RITUAL OF OUR OWN TO BOND

-

When my twins were about four years old we started our bedtime prayers routine together every night before my husband and I tucked them in.

We then had a special ritual where I would say to them: “I love you my Nunu.”

They would reply: “Love you more my Nunuza.’’ Then we all say, “Sleep tight, don’t let the bedbugs bite,’’ and kiss each other goodnight.

This worked so well that even when away on sleepovers they would call us before they slept just to say, “Love you more my Nunuza.”

Recently my husband and I were blessed with a beautiful baby girl and though she is still a baby we plan on including her in our bedtime ritual. We all go to bed every night saying the same things to each other. It’s incredibly heartwarming.

Hopefully, one day when they have kids of their own they’ll be able to do the same with them.
