DIFFICULTY: ✱✱ PREPARATION TIME: ✱✱ CLEANUP: ✱ ACTIVITY TIME: 45 MINUTES

YOU WILL NEED:

• A tree branch without any leaves on it (we used a dead branch that had moss growing on it, which added a pretty pop of green) • Tissue paper • Scissors • Glue

STEP 1

Cut the tissue paper into little squares of the same size (about 10 x 10cm). We stuck to pink paper, but you can use whichever colour you like or even an assortment.

STEP 2

Create the blossoms with the help of your toddler. Fold the paper over its length and then over its width so that it forms a perfect square. Take the middle (the end opposite to the open corners) and twist it. Open up the blossom by lifting the four “open” corners to form a bloom.

STEP 3

Use glue to stick the blooms onto the branch. Apply pressure when sticking a bloom on and hold it down for about 15 seconds to make sure that it is secure. Let it dry. Your toddler can also help with this step.

The folding actions in this activity will develop your child’s fine motor skills, eye- hand coordination and spatial planning skills. The activity will also boost creativity.
