TODDLER YEARS

-

By this time you know your little one well and you can tell when she is tired. Between 12 and 24 months they still need their daytime naps, as three to three and a half hours of time awake is plenty.

Cot death isn’t such a risk anymore so you might want to look at giving her a comfort object like a teddy to cuddle. Sleep is associated with a separation from mom and dad and to a little one that can be scary. Sticking to your routine can be a great source of comfort to your child. If you choose to co- sleep, know that you are not alone. Bed merry- go- round is very typical and many families do that as it is the only way they can all get some sleep. This is when a child comes to your bed in the night, and one of you goes to sleep in the spare room. You never know where you are going to wake up. Take a deep breath – it is just a phase and will also pass.
