DIY: Sock puppet

A quick and easy sock puppet will give you and your little one hours of delightful imaginary play

-

You need

› 2 different colours of felt for the tongue and ears

› 1 old sock

› plastic or paper eyes

› Fabric glue and felt pen

› 2 buttons

› 1 pipe cleaner

› 2 tassles

› Scissors, needle and thread

Method

• Cut two ears and a tongue out of the felt.

• Slip the sock over your hand to figure out how you would like to create your puppet in order to have a bit of a personality.

Once you know where you want them, stick the tongue and eyes in place with glue. • Decide where the nostrils, horns and ears should be, and mark the spot with a felt pen.

• Remove your hand from the sock, and sew on the buttons as a nose and the felt shapes as ears.

• Make two little holes for the horns, and thread the pipe cleaner through. If they don’t feel secure, stitch them in place. Stick the tassles onto the ends of the horns. (This also protects your child from being scratched or poked by the pipe cleaners.)
