CARRYING YOUR BABY

✗ Don’t hike your hip up as you carry your baby on one side.

✓ Watch the shoulder of the arm supporting the baby to make sure that it is not lifting up to your ear, or pulling forward.

✓ Stand with your weight distribute­d equally on both legs, and use your stomach and arms to support your baby.

✓ Alternate the sides on which you carry your baby. You should shift the baby from left to right, and also to the front, with each opportunit­y. That way you can prevent any muscle-strength imbalances, and any wear and tear on your joints is distribute­d evenly.
