Expert advice: I don’t feel pregnant, mucous plug, miscarriage

-

Q:I’m 23 years old and I’m almost 15 weeks pregnant. My problem is that I haven’t felt anything or seen any change in my body yet. When can I start to see changes or feel something?

A:Tina says: If your blood tests have shown positive for pregnancy and your scan has confirmed the conceptus, then I would not be concerned. Many women feel changes quite soon in their pregnancy (some even before the pregnancy is confirmed) but many others don’t feel or see changes until after the first trimester. I am sure that you will begin to see a swelling of your abdomen and a tightness in your waistband very soon and after week 20 it is usual for you to feel flutterings in your womb as your baby is big enough to have his movements felt. If you are concerned, please go along to your doctor or clinic and ask them to let you hear your baby’s heart.
