I CAN LIVE WITHOUT YOU

People don’t belong to people. Nobody owns another person. It sounds silly to me when people say, “You are my life.”

But the truth, for me, is that nobody can become your life. Someone can become an important part of your life, but nobody can become your whole life. Let no one become your reason to live. Your life must have enough life in it that pleases you and makes you happy, proud, content – even when it’s just you. Find peace within, fall in love with yourself and pursue your dreams. Always give a part of yourself to people. Even your partner doesn’t deserve your whole life. You always give a part of yourself to anyone and everyone. I don’t believe you should ever say, “I can’t live without you,” because you can. I know people who have lived through horrors. Some lost their family members or friends in the blink of an eye, some lost their unborn babies, some lost their jobs – but they’re still here. We all get hit by life, but soldiering on is what keeps us strong. Thank you for this incredible magazine!
