BABY SHOWER THEMES WE LOVE

-

VINTAGE TEA PARTY

The vintage theme has been a hit with the wedding planners, but it also makes for a romantic, cost-effective and quirky theme for welcoming a baby girl. Place a few roses or other flowers into glass jars and scatter the jars on the table. These jars are also great to put cookies in! Tie lace (which is cheap and visually appealing) to teacups and around the glass jars. Check online for rental companies that hire out vintagestyled crockery, tablecloths and other old-fashioned items like a typewriter, to complete the look.

WHITE DELIGHT

Angelic white is the perfect colour palette to use when the sex of the baby has not yet been revealed. Decorate the tables with a white or silver tablecloth, and put white flowers in glass jars on the table. Use white crockery and incorporate candles wherever possible. To spoil your guests, have a sweetie thank you table. To do this, fill glass jars with white sweets like nougat, white chocolate and candied eggs. Each guest then fills a small bag with sweets to take home with them.

AHOY, SAILOR!

There’s no better way to welcome a little boy than with a nautical-inspired party. Keep your décor white, blue and red by using red-and-white striped serviettes, funky blue-andwhite striped straws and a sailor-themed cake. You can even ask your guests to come dressed to the theme. For a fun food item, make a watermelon boat. Carve out half a large watermelon, and fill it with a variety of fruit. Stick a paper sail onto a stick, and plant it in the watermelon as a mast for the ”ship”.
