NOT A WORM

Ringworm skin infection is caused by a fungus rather than a worm. It is spread by pets like a cat or dog to children and is highly contagious. Ringworm can also affect the scalp, causing hair to fall out. It can also cause scaly, itchy patches on the skin. Symptoms are aggravated by clothing rubbing against the rash, and by sweat, heat and humidity. An anti-fungal cream will be prescribed by the doctor to treat the infection.
