TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT NOAH.

Noah was exclusively breastfed and has always been a very good eater. His favourite foods are fruit and vegetables, especially broccoli! He loves dancing and animals. When the music starts, he drops everything and throws his whole body into his dance, which is followed by lots of laughter. After that, he applauds himself!

He loves his Labrador brother, Jock, and can chat to him for hours. He really is a little ray of sunshine who adores the outdoors. He is a very, very busy bee.

WHERE DID HE GET THOSE BLUE EYES?

My eyes were just as blue when I was little, but he definitely gets them from his dad. That said, he looks more like me every day, but he has his dad’s determination, for sure!

HOW DID YOU CHOOSE HIS NAME?

It was inspired by the sea. I met my husband, André Avenant, on a cruise ship. I was the spa manager, and he was the senior IT officer. We were in Mexico when we found out that our baby would be a boy, and the next morning I woke up with the decision made: He would be called Noah. It means ”comfort” and ”to come to rest”, which is so appropriate for our story. Our plan is that I’ll stay home with him until he is two or three years old. During the lockdown we were so fortunate to have André home for 11 months. But now he is overseas again for six months, and we video call two to three times per day. Noah loves seeing his dad and laughs whenever his face appears on the screen.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS FOR NOAH?

Like all parents, we just want the best for him. Our roots will always be in South Africa, but we would love for Noah to travel a lot and experience all the places we have seen.

He got his passport at six weeks! As soon as Covid-19 is over, he will certainly get his first stamp in that fresh new passport.
