USEFUL LABELS
Sometimes a label can help parents to realise that they need to find treatment or therapy for their child. But it has only served its purpose if the problem is being handled. Professionals sometimes use labels to communicate about a particular patient. Labels can also be used to teach children how to be more sensitive towards a classmate who might, for instance, be on the autism spectrum or have ADHD.
