Your Pregnancy #Celebrating: Little Red Riding Hood All the better to share, my dear! 2021-04-01 - BY ZOË SMITH When Zara Howell from Pretoria East turned 3, all her friends and family got together for a Little Red Riding Hood feast. Grandma was there too. The carrot birthday cake was created by Bake Me Pretty, Home Baking At Its Best – findthemon Facebook. Paper cups are super snack holders – and another ideal spot for RRH branding! Wood slice serving boards – a nod to the fairy tale’s woodsman hero. Glass jars filled with red jelly beans were presented as homemade strawberry “jam”. Zoey Brazelle, Zara’s godsister, with her adopted forest fox. Marshmallows were iced to look like mini toffee “apples”, and Oreos were dressed up as edible tree stumps, complete with little axes. The guests were given Riding Hood picnic baskets stocked with wild berry juice, a fresh apple, egg and red berry sweets, pretzels, a mini hamburger and dry wors. Planning, decor and styling by Corinne’s Petite Partyki Datjies. Each little guest got to adopt a felt forest friend, made by Mossie Handmade (find them on Facebook: @MossieHandmade), to take home. The owl and the bunny were most popular. Edible Grandma beds were Rice Krispies treats with fondant icing. The Little Red Riding Hood tale in biscuits – even the wolf looks friendly enough here.
