THIS WORKED FOR ME

-

Tania Gray from Bryanston is mom to Connor (4) and Rebeka (5).

“I’d heard people talk about keeping a pad and pen next to their bed to write down their dreams. I decided to use this same idea to record my thoughts for Connor’s life book. I find that when I’m lying in bed trying to sleep, my thoughts often turn to my son. Now I write these thoughts down.

When I write to them in this spontaneous way, it really reads like it comes from my heart.”

Here are some excerpts:

“Rebeka, you are getting braver and braver every day. I was also very shy when I was little, and I know it is hard. I know your heart hurts if someone is mean to you. I wish I could make it better every time, but I’m not allowed at your school or ballet or other places where you learn stuff. But remember you are learning new and important things every day, and know that every time we walk somewhere and I hold your hand in mine, I feel special and lucky.”

“Connor, you are so perceptive, and always know what I am feeling. You ask me if I am cross or sad if you see it on my face. You can see it in my eyes. How lucky and privileged I am to be your mother.”
