ANOTHER MOM’S WISDOM

We took the question to Facebook, and this is what one of our followers had to say:

-

“There might be a lot of reasons. I’m not taking his side, but trying to help with some possible reasons for his behaviour to take into consideration, and maybe it might help.

“Not all men love kids, and some try to pretend when they are there, but some just can’t. If it’s your first baby, this might be the case; if not, it might be that he is scared of small babies, or he just can’t connect for a reason known to him.

“As women, we give more attention to the babies, and rightfully so. Some men struggle to understand this, and this might make them resent the baby. You might have changed towards him, and he can’t address it because of fear or what you might say about his concerns. “Not all men understand the need to be there for their kids other than financially. He might not know he is needed because he didn’t receive that kind of care growing up, or it’s just his nature. Having a child does not make you a parent at heart, but wanting to be a parent makes you one. “Sorry about what you are going through – all the best, Sis, and hugs and kisses.”
