Holy Childhood swimmers take to the water
PARENTS, family and friends of learners of the Holy Childhood School were treated to a full morning of swimming at the school’s annual inter-house gala on Wednesday.
Murray McHugh bettered A Hart’s U10 boys 50 metre breaststroke record set in 1985 and Keri Byrne beat Kim Wegerle’s butterfly U12 50m record set in 1990.
The winning house was St Benedict with 279 points, with St Anthony on 196 points and St Francis (165 points) finishing second and third.
After the gala it was announced that four learners had been awarded Zululand swimming colours.
They are Ella Hanbury-King, Keri Byrne, Murray McHugh and Annabelle Balmer.
