Heuwelland fun gala ac­tion

TEXT­BOOK swim­ming strokes may not have been a pri­or­ity at the Heuwelland Pri­mary School foun­da­tion phase fun gala held on Wed­nes­day, but this did not di­min­ish the com­pet­i­tive­ness among the young swim­mers.

Grade R to Grade 3 pupils show­cased their abil­i­ties and en­ter­tained par­ents and teach­ers along the way.

The day’s ac­tion kicked off with 25m lengths of freestyle, breast­stroke and back­stroke events be­fore the Grade Rs took to the wa­ter, com­pet­ing in walk­ing, tube and kick­ing board races, as well as breast­stroke and freestyle events.
