THE Zu­l­u­land Multi Sport Club’s Do­los Night Chal­lenge was hotly con­tested over three rounds, with more than 200 lo­cal ath­letes com­pet­ing in 2.5km, 5km and 10km run/walk events.

The se­ries was held on 7 Fe­bru­ary, 28 Fe­bru­ary and on Wed­nes­day and was spon­sored by Bid­vest McCarthy Toy­ota Richards Bay.

Af­ter clock­ing three solid runs in a row, Quin­ton Simp­son claimed the fastest 10km male run­ner award with a time of 1.58.17.

De­siree Ver­wey, who will be com­pet­ing in the World Iron­man Cham­pi­onships later this year, recorded the fastest women’s 10km time of 1.31.28.

uMh­lathuze Ath­let­ics Club’s Nom­cebo Mthethwa dom­i­nated the women’s 5km event with a time of 1.06.42, with Scot Davis tak­ing the 5km men’s crown in 1.03.04.
