Zululand Observer - Monday - - ZO SPORT - Richard Springorum

LOCAL strategic board tacticians will be nestling at home calculating various angles of attack to implement when competing in the upcoming chess tournaments.

There have been two tournaments thus far which have seen these masterminds executing their battle plans, but with nationals at stake, one needs to make sure that all skills and strategies are completely polished to win on the grand stage.

One major part of competing at these tournaments is the ability to maintain concentration and focus for hours without getting fatigued.

These players not only practice their playing skills, but also complete a series of mental exercises which improve and prolong concentration.
