Ro­tary con­nects with needy lo­cal NPOs

FOL­LOW­ING the suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of the Ro­tary Con­nec­tion Ride to Cape Town this year, the Ro­tary Club of Em­pan­geni has been able to be­gin al­lo­cat­ing the money raised to var­i­ous lo­cal char­ity or­gan­i­sa­tions.

Most re­cently, the Ro­tar­i­ans vis­ited Hos­pice House in Em­pan­geni to fully ren­o­vate its stor­age con­tainer and handed over 50 blan­kets and 150 parcels of ce­re­als to the or­gan­i­sa­tion.

The SPCA was the next stop, and it was a happy day for all when a cheque of R15 000 - plus three in­dige­nous trees for shade - were dropped off there by the Ro­tar­ian group.

Next it was off to the Na­tional Sea Res­cue In­sti­tute in Richards Bay for a han­dover of a

R10 000 do­na­tion.

The Ro­tary Club of Em­pan­geni meets each Tues­day at the Em­pan­geni Coun­try Club at 12.45pm.

All you need to do to qual­ify for the com­pe­ti­tion is to col­lect eight soc­cer player pro­file cards printed in the ZO ev­ery week un­til Mon­day, 9 July.

Two player pro­file cards have al­ready been fea­tured in last Mon­day’s edi­tion. These cards must be cut out and pasted on the back page of the Football Face-off 2018 fea­ture. When all eight of the player cards have been col­lected and pasted on the fea­ture, What­sApp us a photo of the en­tire col­lec­tion with your full name to 072 0694169 be­fore Tues­day, 10 July.

Five lucky read­ers will then be drawn to go through to the ZO Penalty Shoot-out on Fri­day, 13 July, with a chance to strike and win fan­tas­tic prizes up for grabs.

The five fi­nal­ists will be re­quired to bring along the orig­i­nal Football Face-off fea­ture with the pasted player pro­file cards.
