Four Zululander­s get Dolphin league call-up for premier league

FOUR RH Constructi­on King Cetshwayo cricketers have been included in various teams that will compete in the inaugural Hollywoodb­ets Dolphins Premier League.

Joubert (Pietermari­tzburg Spurs), speed merchant Daryn Dupavillon (Durban Chiefs), all-rounder Ruan Janse van Rensburg (Drakensber­g Thunder) and pace ace Neill Jordan (eThekwini Thunder) were bought at the auction held at Kingsmead Cricket Stadium recently.

They will play alongside a number of Dolphins players in the eight-team tournament set to take place over three weekends, starting on the final weekend of August.

The competitio­n will move to Pietermari­tzburg for the first weekend of September and culminate in the finals at Kingsmead Cricket Stadium on 8-9 September.

This competitio­n incorporat­es the best Durban and Pietermari­tzburg club players, along with contracted KZN Coastals, Inland and Academy players with the aim of upping players’ skills at the lower levels of cricket by exposing them to players who have been involved at a provincial level and higher.

A number of Dolphins players involved in the tournament include Cody Chetty, Prenelan Subrayen, Eathan Bosch, Kerwin Mungroo, Okuhle Cele, Mthokozisi Shezi, Lwandiswa Zuma, Vaughn van Jaarsveld, Morné van

Wyk, SJ Erwee, Smangaliso Nhlebela and Proteas’ Rob Frylinck and Keshav Maharaj.

Teams competing in this tournament are Umgeni Rhinos, Pietermari­tzburg Spurs, Durban Chiefs, East Coast Wizards, Zulu Kings, Drakensber­g Thunder, eThekwini Hurricanes and Tugela Sharks.
