Step up to end violence against women with #OneVoice
THE countdown for the #OneVoice Walk against gender violence has begun
This Thursday, hundreds of women from across Zululand will slip on their heels and walk in unity against the plight of women abuse, from the Road Lodge Richards Bay to the circus site opposite the City of uMhlathuze Civic Centre in Richards Bay at 10am.
The walk will culminate with a business exhibition and short programme and motivational talk by local domestic violence activist, Michelle Michael.
Event organiser, Tracey-Ann Buckley Aggett, who is a former Mrs Universe 2016 Runner-Up and owner of Le-Fem, is calling on the local business community to support the event and promote their businesses or companies at the finish line.
Women and men from all communities are invited to attend and there will be prize giveaways as well.
Locals, businesses, community groups and schools have already begun pledging their support.
‘Five strong women from different cultural backgrounds, different walks of life, with different stories to tell have joined forces to execute the first Zululand #OneVoice Walk against gender violence in Richards Bay and we are hoping to educate and empower the community through this initiative.
