Please help me help Mzingazi’s needy children

Zululand Observer - Monday - - ZO PUBLIC COMMENTS - MARTHA NDWANDWE

Ioperate a charity organisation taking care of the abused, orphaned, abandoned and less privileged children from informal settlements.

For the two years I have been running this programme, I have received no funding or financial support, although I have done everything in my power to become registered so we can begin receiving subsidies.

The little I had saved to spend on the charity has been exhausted and the children’s families cannot afford to pay even R50 for running costs.

Surviving from hand-to-mouth, every day is a struggle to ensure the children receive some food while in our care as they come with no lunch and no decent clothes or shoes.

I know the Richards Bay community members are very kind-hearted and generous, and I am grateful for the support we have received from friends and well-wishers who have bought groceries, clothes and shoes for the children and caregivers, all of whom work on a volunteer basis.

Next month is our children’s graduation and we would love to throw them an end of year party.

I am once again calling on your support to help us give the children a wonderful party.

Going forward, I am desperate for our own site on which to build our own building.

We have been offered a site which is selling at R40 000 on which we wish to establish an orphanage/children’s home.

For this I am appealing for donations.

We have 40 children and the vision is focusing on 400.

If anyone is able to help us, please contact me on 060 3399378 or 071 4641883.
