Sus­pects nabbed with stolen cars

HLUHLUWE SAPS have promised to in­ten­sify their rov­ing road­blocks to en­sure the safety of the lo­cal com­mu­nity and tourists. On Sun­day, the SAPS to­gether with var­i­ous law en­force­ment agen­cies, con­ducted an op­er­a­tion along the R22, the Hluhluwe CBD and the N2, where two sus­pects were ar­rested for be­ing in pos­ses­sion of stolen ve­hi­cles. Lo­cal po­lice spokesper­son War­rant-Of­fi­cer, Raj Bharath, said dur­ing the stop and search op­er­a­tion they ar­rested two sus­pects who were found driv­ing ve­hi­cles that had been re­ported as stolen. ‘We dis­cov­ered that a gold Volvo was re­ported stolen at Bed­ford­view Po­lice Sta­tion ear­lier this month, while a white Polo Vivo was re­port­edly stolen in Cape Town in Oc­to­ber this year,’ said Bharath, who added that the sus­pects would ap­pear soon at Hluhluwe Mag­is­trate’s Court.
