Big score for Mal­i­bongwe

KHOM­BINDLELA High School proudly achieved a 94% pass rate with learner Mal­i­bongwe Radebe ob­tain­ing no fewer than eight dis­tinc­tions, in­clud­ing 100 per­cent in ac­count­ing. Radebe was in­vited to join the KZN top achiev­ers func­tion at the Dur­ban ICC on Fri­day af­ter scor­ing dis­tinc­tions in IsiZulu, English, life ori­en­ta­tion, con­sumer stud­ies, life sciences, phys­i­cal sciences and ac­count­ing. Non­to­beko Luthuli (18) ob­tained six dis­tinc­tions for phys­i­cal sci­ence, life sciences, ac­count­ing, IsiZulu, English and life ori­en­ta­tion. Luthuli, of Makhwezini in the Ntam­banana Re­serve, said she in­tends to study medicine at Wits Univer­sity. The school’s Deputy Prin­ci­pal, Nom­pumelelo Mthiyane, said they were very proud to have achieved qual­ity re­sults. ‘Other learn­ers such as Lun­gelo Khu­malo ob­tained five dis­tinc­tions, while Mbali Mkhize and Sim­phiwe Mtha­lane each achieved four.’ Mthiyane said even though they aimed to ob­tain a 100% pass rate, they were nev­er­the­less pleased to have a pass rate of 94.3%, which is well above the 82.01% they ob­tained last year.
