Big score for Malibongwe
KHOMBINDLELA High School proudly achieved a 94% pass rate with learner Malibongwe Radebe obtaining no fewer than eight distinctions, including 100 percent in accounting. Radebe was invited to join the KZN top achievers function at the Durban ICC on Friday after scoring distinctions in IsiZulu, English, life orientation, consumer studies, life sciences, physical sciences and accounting. Nontobeko Luthuli (18) obtained six distinctions for physical science, life sciences, accounting, IsiZulu, English and life orientation. Luthuli, of Makhwezini in the Ntambanana Reserve, said she intends to study medicine at Wits University. The school’s Deputy Principal, Nompumelelo Mthiyane, said they were very proud to have achieved quality results. ‘Other learners such as Lungelo Khumalo obtained five distinctions, while Mbali Mkhize and Simphiwe Mthalane each achieved four.’ Mthiyane said even though they aimed to obtain a 100% pass rate, they were nevertheless pleased to have a pass rate of 94.3%, which is well above the 82.01% they obtained last year.
