Paul Avenue pavement construction halted
EMPANGENI residents were pleased to finally be gaining a footpath along Paul Avenue, but their joy was shortlived as the contract appears to have come to a halt.
Construction started strongly and seemed to be going quickly, but stopped altogether some time ago.
According to a source who asked not to be named, the project has apparently been cancelled altogether.
Paul Avenue residents are now left with a footpath that is completed in some sections, gravel in others and littered with sharp metal poles at a few selected points.
uMhlathuze Municipality was approached for comment, but had not responded by the time of going to print.
