Collaborative drive feeds needy hundreds
HUNDREDS of impoverished families are able to put food on the table after a massive food donation rolled out by South32 Hillside Aluminium in partnership with ZO charity arm Dice (Do I Care Enough?).
Last month, Dice was elated to receive a large donation of food items from South32, to distribute to families, orphanages and community structures across a wide spectrum of local and rural areas.
Six other community organisations, namely Linzwa Foundation, Judea Harvest, Walk in Faith, Lungelo Youth Development, Eagles Wing Shelter and Winter Warriors were selected to partner with Dice to distribute these food items into the communities.
‘We wish we could better communicate the absolute joy demonstrated by the other community organisations when Dice made contact with them,' said Dice operations manager Karen Dalton.
‘We are all so blessed to experience the generosity of South32 once again. The South32 Hillside Aluminium team so often demonstrates kindness, beginning with the understanding that everyone has struggles and challenges and that it is important to help where we can.'
Lungelo Youth Development founder Mary Mlambo expressed her gratitude to be part of the huge drive, and for the donation which she said will uplift people’s lives.
'On behalf of the children and their families, Lungelo Youth Development would like to convey our appreciation for the generous donation. It is of great pleasure to have such organisations assisting community members who cannot help themselves and do not have much to own.
‘Without your commitment, dedication and absolute generosity, we would not be able to make the difference,’ said Mlambo.
