uMfolozi Mayor Xolani Bhengu on Friday led a municipal delegation to the home of the late councillor.
‘Although we knew about his illness, we did not anticipate it was going to take him away from us this soon.
'Therefore, we are here as uMfolozi Municipality to give our condolences to the family,’ said Bhengu.
The mayor said the late councillor was not only head of his household, but was a family member of the municipality, and a public servant.
‘As uMfolozi Municipality, we have lost a great deal because right from the beginning of his involvement in the municipality, his contribution manifested within the ward. 'The first area of concern that he brought to council was the lack of water in the ward, and we have already implemented a water project in ward 3,' elaborated Bhengu.
Ngema's older brother Mdumiseni said the passing of their brother has left a huge void in the family, particularly for the sisters to whom he was a pillar of strength.
He described his brother as selfless, and someone who cared greatly for his immediate family, and whose love was spread among extended family members.
‘We are a very close and loving family, which sometimes amazes me,’Ngema said.
